In some cases, the company <em>does</em> need an intern. Because, yes, we're cheaper and will do the stuff that would be a waste of time (money) for others to do. My last internship definitely created value for the company and it'd be silly to think that just because I'm part-time I'm doing less than some fresh-grad working full time. You know? In reality, they don’t. You’re one of the easiest employees to replace, so why should they cater to the benefits that you want? Interns are supposed to be hungry to work, not get paid time off! Lots of interns don’t even get paid, so you’re lucky in that sense ;) Think of it this way- you’re working hard now to get the experience that is almost necessary to land a job with serious perks in the future.
